SUBJECT

Title
Authorize a five-year master agreement for the purchase of furnishings and housewares as part of the Rapid Rehousing Program for the Office of Homeless Solutions - CORT Business Services Corporation, only bidder - Estimated amount of $1,000,000 - Financing: General Fund

Body
BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a master agreement is to establish firm pricing for goods, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as guidance rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with the amount budgeted will determine the amount spent under this agreement.

This master agreement will provide for the purchase of furnishings and housewares as part of the Rapid Rehousing Program for Office of Homeless Solutions. Rapid rehousing involves placement of people and families into an apartment with subsidized rent and case management services offered for a period of 12-24 months. This master agreement will allow people and families to be housed with the necessary furniture and utensils for the home. Items purchased through this agreement include:

* Living room furniture
* Bedroom furniture
* Bedding
* Linens
* Towels
* Kitchenware

The item purchased will become property of the clients.
