Title
Authorize a construction services contract for the replacement and rehabilitation of water and wastewater mains for the Hickory Creek Phase 2A Project (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Douglas Dailey Construction, LLC, lowest responsible bidder of four - Not to exceed $12,538,800.00 - Financing: Water Construction Fund ($61,700.00), 2022C Water Revenue Bonds TWDB LM221535 Fund ($4,785,780.00), Wastewater Capital Improvement G Fund ($2,990,642.67), and Wastewater Capital Improvement F Fund ($4,700,677.33)

Body
BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a construction services contract with Douglas Dailey Construction, LLC for the replacement and rehabilitation of approximately 27,470 feet of water and wastewater mains. This includes the installation of approximately 430 feet of 6-inch; and 6,240 feet of 8-inch diameter water mains, and 450 feet of 6-inch; 7,010 feet of 8-inch; 1,470 feet of 10-inch; 3,880 feet of 12-inch; 2,970 feet of 16-inch; 950 feet of 18-inch; 110 feet of 20-inch; 310 feet of 21-inch; 3,280 feet of 24-inch; and 370 feet of 36-inch diameter wastewater mains.

The existing water and wastewater mains targeted for replacement or rehabilitation were built between 1920 and 1964. The existing water and wastewater mains are being replaced or rehabilitated due to poor condition or the need for additional capacity. Mains planned for replacement will be upsized to meet future demands. Installation of the proposed segments will improve the capacity of the water and wastewater systems, reduce inflow and infiltration and Sanitary Sewer Overflows, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize service interruptions.
