Authorize a construction services contract for the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Meadow Street Intersection Improvements Construction Project - Texas Standard Construction, Ltd., lowest responsible bidder of eleven - Not to exceed $494,628.46 - Financing: Transportation Special Projects Fund ($385,000.00) and Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2024 General Obligation Bond Fund) ($109,628.46)

BACKGROUND
On November 8, 2023, the City Council authorized a Project Specific Funding Agreement with Dallas County, Transportation - Major Capital lmprovement Projects (Project No. 30248), in the amount of $400,000.00, reduced by $15,000.00 for County in-house project delivery costs for a total of $385,000.00, and the total project cost estimate of $800,000.00 of which the City of Dallas' portion is $400,000.00, for the design and construction of pedestrian improvements at the intersection of Meadow Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard including upgrading signal features and pedestrian crosswalks at the intersection to enhance safety and accessibility to transit and school by Resolution No. 23-1563.
On July 16, 2026, bid specifications were developed and publicly advertised for competitive bids associated with the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at Meadow Street – Major Capital Improvement Project (MCIP 30248) Intersection Improvements Construction Project (CIZ26-TPW-4002). Bids were received and opened on August 21, 2026.
