Body
BACKGROUND
Dallas Water Utilities has identified various properties in the City of Dallas impacted by stream erosion and flooding. This action will authorize a professional services contract with GEI Consultants Inc, for the engineering evaluation and design of storm drainage and erosion control improvements at four locations, including Pratt Street at Mayrant Drive, 1215 Lansford Avenue at Elmwood Branch, 1808 Lansford Avenue at Elmwood Branch, and 4690 South Counts Boulevard at Chalk Hill Branch.
The services provided for this contract include project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, environmental permitting, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications. Improvements at Pratt Street and Mayrant Drive will include replacement of the outfall headwall and 100 feet of erosion protection. For 1215 Lansford Avenue at Elmwood Branch, improvements will provide erosion protection to both sides of Elmwood Branch from the bridge at Lansford Avenue to 380 feet east, protecting both the roadway and homes. The proposed improvements at 1808 Lansford Avenue include approximately 100 feet of erosion control to provide protection along the northern bank behind the residence’s home. Across from 4690 S. Counts Boulevard at Chalk Hill Branch, the existing storm sewer outfall will be repaired, and erosion control improvements will be made to protect the existing roadway.
The consulting firm for this project was selected following a qualifications-based selection process in accordance with City of Dallas Administrative Directive 4-05 procurement guidelines.
