Authorize a construction services contract for the 2025 Sidewalk and Barrier Free Ramp Improvements at various locations which includes water and wastewater adjustments at various locations throughout the City - Aushill Construction, LLC, lowest responsible bidder of seven - Not to exceed $ 5,070,785.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2024 General Obligation Bond Fund) ($4,919,585.00) (subject to annual appropriations), Water Construction Fund ($139,050.00), Wastewater Construction Fund ($12,150.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a thirty-six-month construction services contract for the installation of sidewalks and barrier free ramps, including water and wastewater adjustments, at various locations throughout the City to ensure the City of Dallas’ compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Projects being implemented in this contract will be based on the City’s Sidewalk Replacement Cost Share Program.
On July 26, 1990, the ADA was signed into Federal Law. Title II of the ADA specifically applies to state and local governments and stipulates that no qualified individual with a disability shall, by such disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs or activities of a public entity, or be subject to discrimination by any public entity. Public entities with fifty or more employees are required to develop a transition plan that comply with all requirements of the law.
