BACKGROUND

 

This cooperative purchasing agreement will provide the monitoring and management of network security vulnerabilities and risks for exploitation. The application will be utilized by the Information and Technology Services security and Compliance/Risk teams to identify and mediate exposures in the City’s network from outside threats.  The use of this application allows the City to maintain a comprehensive network protection system that enables the ability to monitor critical network infrastructure as well as meet compliance requirements for PCI, HIPAA, and CJIS regulations.

The Texas Department of Information Resources Cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code.  Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code which authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
