BACKGROUND

The Texas Clean Fleet Program provides incentives to owners of large fleets in Texas to replace diesel-powered vehicles with alternative fuel or hybrid vehicles. The grant was approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in February of 2023. The award of $172,364.00 will fund approximately 80 percent of the cost of the replacement of an on-road dump truck and offset Nitrogen Oxides by .0205 tons annually. This equipment will be assigned to the Department of Aviation.
