BACKGROUND
This item on behalf of Transportation and Public Works Department, authorizes the second step of acquisition for condemnation by eminent domain to acquire a street easement from Cecilia Lara Ramires and Jorge Carreno of approximately 1,222 square feet of land located near the intersection of Edd Road and Spicewood Drive for the Edd Road from Seagoville Road to Garden Grove Drive Project. This property is encumbered with title issues, and the City will not be able to close the transaction amicably. The consideration is based on an independent appraisal. There are no relocation costs associated.
The first resolution approved on September 25, 2024, by Resolution No. 24-1383, authorized the purchase in the amount of $9,262.00. This property will be used for road construction and infrastructure improvements.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On September 25, 2024, the City Council authorized the necessity of acquiring real property and authorizing its purchase for public use from Cecilia Lara Ramires and Jorge Carreno of approximately 1,222 square feet of land located near the intersection of Edd Road and Spicewood Drive for the Edd Road from Seagoville Road to Garden Grove Drive Project by Resolution No. 24-1383.
