Body
BACKGROUND
Cockrell Hill Road from La Reunion Parkway to Singleton Boulevard is a partnership project between the City of Dallas and Dallas County. Dallas County was the lead agency to administer the design and right-of-way acquisition of the project. Dallas County requested and the City agreed to be the lead agency to administer the construction of the project.
This project includes the extension of Cockrell Hill Road across the Union Pacific Railroad tracks with a new bridge and the reconstruction of 1500 linear feet of Vinson Street north of the bridge including curb, gutter, sidewalks, drainage, water and wastewater utilities, and a new traffic signal at the intersection of Cockrell Hill Road and Singleton Boulevard. The bridge will be a four-lane divided section, and the roadway will be a five-lane undivided section with a continuous left turn lane. This action will authorize a construction services contract with Urban Infraconstruction, LLC, for the construction of Cockrell Hill Road from La Reunion Parkway to Singleton Boulevard.
If this project is not awarded for construction at this time, field conditions may also change, which will require modifications to the engineering design plans, requiring additional funding and time to address.
Urban Infraconstruction, LLC has had no contractual activities with the City of Dallas within the past three years.
