BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a professional services contract with O’Brien Engineering, Inc. for the evaluation and design of storm drainage and erosion control improvements at three locations. Engineering evaluations and design improvements will be completed under this contract for streambank stabilization, erosion control and slope protection at 3106 Dorrington Circle and the University Hills Bridge at Ricketts Branch. In addition, engineering services will be provided to address flooding issues attributed to existing inadequate storm drainage infrastructure at the Mid Pines Drive and Sonnet Drive intersection, including storm drainage improvements from the intersection of Mid Pines Drive and Sonnet Drive to the intersection of Flair Drive and Cromwell Drive.

The services provided for this contract include project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, environmental permitting, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, drainage studies including hydraulic analysis, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications.
