Authorize amendment of the 2025 City Council Calendar to change committee names of the Committee on Government Performance and Financial Management to the Committee on Finance and name of the Committee on Workforce, Education, and Equity to the Committee on Government Efficiency for the months September through December – Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
Resolution No. 24-1507 adopted the 2025 City Calendar. Updates to the 2025 City Calendar are necessary to reflect City Council committee changes and scheduling changes.
On August 27, 2025, the Dallas City Council adopted Resolution No. 25-1385, amending Subsections 9.1, “Committees Established,” and 9.3, “Committee Meetings,” of Section 9, “City Council Committees,” of the City Council Rules of Procedure, thereby changing the name of the Committee on Government Performance and Financial Management to the Committee on Finance, changing the name of the Committee on Workforce, Education, and Equity to the Committee on Government Efficiency, and requiring in-person attendance at meetings of City Council committees.
Resolution No. 89-3796 requires the City Council to adopt an annual calendar. Resolution No. 90-2673 establishes the annual July recess. The City Calendar includes all City Council briefing and agenda meetings, budget briefings and workshops, Council Committee meetings, and City holidays. The City Calendar is available on the City’s website at dallas.gov/calendar and is made available in the Mayor and City Council Office to all residents who request copies. The City Calendar is also available for downloading and synching into calendar software on computers or mobile devices via a link on the City’s website.

The Government Performance and Financial Management Committee was briefed regarding this matter on September 23, 2024.
On October 8, 2024, the City Council adopted the 2025 City Calendar by Resolution No. 24-1507.
