Title
Authorize an increase in the construction services contract with A & B Construction, LLC to (1) extend the contract term from November 22, 2025 to November 22, 2026; (2) add necessary new construction items; and (3) provide façade renovations for the Mockingbird Pedestrian Bridge - Not to exceed $1,268,499.18, from $14,839,500.00 to $16,107,999.18 - Financing: Street and Alley Improvement Fund ($520,295.18), Park and Recreation Facilities Fund (2006 General Obligation Bond Funds ($732,877.60) and University Crossing PID Trail Fund ($15,326.40)

BACKGROUND
On October 12, 2022, the City Council authorized a construction services contract with A & B Construction, LLC, lowest responsible bidder of four to provide construction services for the 36-month Bridge Maintenance Project by Resolution No. 22-1534.
This action will authorize Change Order No. 2 to the construction services contract with A & B Construction, LLC to (1) extend the contract term from November 22, 2025 to November 22, 2026; (2) add the necessary new construction items; and (3) provide façade renovations for the Mockingbird Pedestrian Bridge.
The project scope includes:
(1) extending the expiration date to November 22, 2026 to continue the general bridge maintenance and repair work for bridge structures located throughout the City of Dallas based on the Texas Department of Transportation Bridge Inspection Reports, while making preparation to procure a new contract to continue addressing bridge and other structured maintenance needs as required by federal, state, and situational needs; and
(2) adding necessary new construction items that include, but are not limited to furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to remove and replace existing metal beam guard fence posts, object markers, temporary barriers, crash attenuator, 4-inch concrete sidewalk, permanent debris containment, pedestrian crossing signal pole, and 4-inch concrete/asphalt core associated with bridge structures or their transitions; and
(3) providing façade renovations for the Mockingbird Pedestrian Bridge.
