BACKGROUND
On January 8, 2025, the City Council authorized a construction services contract with Estrada Concrete Company, LLC for the 2025 Street Resurfacing Construction Contract, by Resolution No. 25-0127.
In mid-January 2025, the Department of Transportation and Public Works received an emergency inspection report regarding a 746-foot retaining wall at 9000-9300 Audelia Road, which was identified as being at high risk of collapse and posing a public safety threat to City residents. Following this, City staff engaged WJE, Inc. to conduct an engineering investigation and develop reconstruction plans for the retaining wall.
This action will authorize Change Order No.1 to the construction services contract with Estrada Concrete Company, LLC to add funding for the additional emergency work needed to reconstruct the retaining wall located at 9000-9300 Block of South Audelia Road.
