Body

BACKGROUND

This item authorizes the conveyance of an easement and right-of-way containing, a total of approximately 831 square feet of land to Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC for the construction, maintenance and use of power lines and electric transformer facilities across City-owned land located at 12000 Greenville Avenue. Dallas Water Utilities Department (DWU) is currently constructing a new Service Center that includes a 26,260 square foot, 2-story concrete tilt-up panel building on approximately 12.9 acres. The building will be a key operational facility for DWU and electrical service and transformer connections are necessary to complete the project.

Construction of the new facility is approximately 70 percent complete, with completion anticipated by Fall 2026. The new DWU Service Center will consolidate Wastewater Emergency Response and Stormwater Neighborhood Drainage Services currently operating out of temporary and leased facilities into a single permanent location. Approval of this item, including conveyance of the required easement to Oncor, is necessary to allow installation of an electrical transformer and associated electrical infrastructure. Conveying the easement is critical to establishing permanent power to the facility and avoiding delays to the project’s scheduled completion.
