Body

BACKGROUND

The National League of Cities (NLC) is a national membership association, serving the interests of 19,000 cities, towns, and villages and their municipal professionals. NLC’s goal is to proactively drive federal policy on behalf of cities and build effective and connected municipal leaders who elevate the quality of life for our nation.

Adam Bazaldua has served as the Dallas City Council Member for District 7 since 2019. As the former chair of the Quality of Life, Arts, and Culture Committee he has worked on various topics that seek to enhance the city’s cultural offerings, support safe mobile food units, and include enhanced library cards for all Dallas residents. He is a committee member for the WEE, PTE, QOL and ECO committee. He was a committee member for the Public Safety committee for the first two years of being elected to the Dallas City Council. In 2021, Mr. Bazaldua was elected to the NLC’s Hispanic Elected Local Officials (HELO) and Race and Equity and Leadership Council board. He is also an active member of the Large Cities Council and currently serves as the Vice Chair of National League of Cities Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors governs and oversees all NLC initiatives. Securing a Board position for 2025 would provide greater influence at the national level both for the City of Dallas and the State of Texas.
