Body

BACKGROUND

On October 13, 2021, the City Council authorized a professional services contract with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. to provide architectural and engineering services for multiple DWU facilities throughout the City.

Prior to the design phase, DWU purchased a leased facility located at 4100 Scottsdale Avenue and acquired four additional properties in the 4100-4300 block of Scottsdale Avenue in Dallas, Texas. The acquisition of the facility and properties allows DWU to consolidate water distribution and the relocation of pumping repairs and water quality from temporary to permanent facilities. In addition, DWU purchased the 12000 Greenville Avenue property to construct the new DWU Service Center. Construction of the DWU Service Center allows for consolidation of Wastewater Emergency Response and Stormwater Drainage Neighborhood Services from temporary to permanent facilities.

This action will authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the professional services contract with Brown Reynolds Watford, Architects, Inc. for additional architectural and engineering services, including design modifications and extended construction administrative services necessary to complete the construction of the Distribution Service Center at Scottsdale Avenue and DWU Service Center at 12000 Greenville Avenue.
