A resolution authorizing the approval and adoption of the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018, Revised and Restated 2026, attached as Exhibit A, to replace the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018 - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
On November 28, 2018, the City Council unanimously voted to adopt the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018 as the cultural plan for the City of Dallas by Resolution No. 18-1683.
On June 25, 2025, the Dallas City Council directed the City Manager by Council Resolution 25-1081 to evaluate city programs and policies to determine if any adjustments may be necessary in response to the President of the United States issuing several executive orders.
December 10, 2025, the Dallas City Council amended Resolution No. 18-1683 by replacing the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018 exhibit by Resolution No. 25-1895. The Arts and Culture Advisory Commission worked with Office of Arts and Culture (OAC) staff to produce a revised and restated copy of the Dallas Cultural Plan 2018 to reflect the amendments.
The Dallas Cultural Plan 2018, Revised and Restated 2026 provides an updated Executive Summary to include context behind the revisions and amendments presented in the revised and restated plan, an updated fact sheet, and updated acknowledgements. This version will serve as the Office of Arts and Culture’s updated guiding document and framework for the work of OAC’s and Dallas’ commitment to arts and culture for Dallas residents and visitors.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On April 30, 2026, the Cultural Plan Committee of the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission voted to recommend adoption of the Dallas Cultural Plan, Revised and Restated 2026.
On May 21, 2026, the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission unanimously voted to recommend adoption of the Dallas Cultural Plan, Revised and Restated 2026.
