BACKGROUND

 

This action will authorize a professional services contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for the evaluation and design of storm drainage and erosion control improvements at two locations. Engineering evaluations and design improvements will be completed under this contract for streambank stabilization, erosion control and slope protection along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River at the Skyline Trail Bridge / Trinity View Park and storm drainage improvements at 6900 Royal Lane to address known flooding issues attributed to existing inadequate storm drainage infrastructure.

 

The services provided for this contract include project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, environmental permitting, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, drainage studies including hydraulic analysis, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications.

 

The consulting firm for this project was selected following a qualifications-based selection process in accordance with City of Dallas Administrative Directive 4-05 procurement guidelines.
