BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract with SYB Construction Co., Inc. for the installation of approximately 22,401 feet of water and wastewater mains. This includes installation of approximately 256 feet of 6-inch, 10,945 feet of 8-inch, 165 feet of 12-inch, 45 feet of 16-inch, and 630 feet of 24-inch diameter water mains and the installation of approximately 7,770 feet of 8-inch, 140 feet of 12-inch, 690 feet of 16-inch, 1080 feet of 18-inch, and 680 feet of 24-inch diameter wastewater mains.
The existing water and wastewater mains were built between 1910 and 1967. These mains are contributing to an increase in maintenance costs, as well as service interruptions. The installation of the proposed segments will improve the capacity of the water and wastewater systems and reduce maintenance costs.
