BACKGROUND
This action will authorize Change Order No. 1 to decrease the construction services contract with The Fain Group, Inc. This decrease change order addresses design revisions which resulted in a reduction to the project scope and an increase in duration of required traffic control needed for the design revisions to be completed.
This change results in a decrease of $624,775.24, decreasing the contract amount from $4,243,017.79 to $3,618,242.55.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On August 15, 2024, the Park and Recreation Board approved a construction services contract for the construction of the Sylvan Discovery Gateway located between Irving Boulevard and Morris Street - The Fain Group, Inc.
On August 28, 2024, the City Council authorized a contract with the Fain Group for the construction of the Sylvan Discovery Gateway by Resolution No. 24-1205.
On February 5, 2026, the Park and Recreation Board approved a decrease in the construction services contract with the Fain Group Inc. for the construction of Sylvan Discovery Gateway located between Irving Boulevard and Morris Street for design revisions to the project scope and an increase in duration of required traffic control needed for completion of the design revisions.
