BACKGROUND

 

This item grants renewal of a revocable license to 7-Eleven, Inc., for the use of approximately 11 square feet of aerial space to occupy, maintain and utilize an existing blade sign over a portion of Akard Street right-of-way near its intersection with Patterson Street. This renews the rights previously granted by Ordinance No. 28986 and renewed by Ordinance No. 31056. The use of this area will not impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic.  The term of this license is four years.

 

The licensee will indemnify the City and carry general liability insurance naming the City as an additional insured

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On May 22, 2013, the City Council authorized a revocable license to 7-Eleven, Inc. for the purpose of installing and maintaining one projecting attached blade sign over a portion of Akard and Patterson Streets rights-of-way by Resolution No.13-0846; Ordinance No. 28986. The term of this license was four years.

 

On December 12, 2018, the City Council authorized renewal to Ordinance No. 28986 for the purpose of occupying, maintaining, and utilizing an existing blade sign over a portion of Akard and Patterson Streets rights-of-way by Resolution No. 18-1780; Ordinance No. 31056. The term of this license was two years.
