BACKGROUND

In October 2019, an application was submitted under the Dallas County Major Capital Improvement Program 7th Call for Projects for a partnership project with Dallas County and the City of Irving to study possible alignments for a multi-use trail to connect Bachman Lake to the Campion Trail in the City of Irving. In December 2020, Dallas County approved $600,000.00 to develop the study with Dallas County contributing $300,000.00, the City of Irving contributing $150,000.00, and the City of Dallas contributing $150,000.00.

The Bachman Lake Connection to the Campion Trail Feasibility Study will examine possible alignments for a proposed multi-use trail to connect Bachman Lake to the Campion Trail in the City of Irving. The proposed trail will pass through the Elm Fork Greenbelt, therefore elements of this study will also include floodplain impacts and permitting, potential mitigation, bridge crossings, community access, parking and other amenities.
