BACKGROUND
This item authorizes the conveyance of an easement and right-of-way containing, a total of approximately 1,985 square feet of land to Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC for the construction, maintenance and use of power lines and electric transformer facilities across City-owned land located at the intersection of East Wintergreen Road and North Joe Wilson Road in Cedar Hill, Texas. The Dallas Water Utilities Deaprtment has identified the need for water transmission pipeline improvements through the Water Distribution Master Plan and Long-Range Water Supply Plan to facilitate conveyance of treated water to the South and Southwest portions of Dallas and its customer cities. The proposed easement and right-of-way conveyance will allow Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC to relocate its infrastructure being displaced due to the construction of a portion of the Southwest Pipeline Water Transmission Project.
The Southwest Pipeline Water Transmission Project includes the installation of approximately 32 miles of 96-inch and 120-inch diameter water transmission pipeline to meet demands associated with population growth as determined through master planning efforts. The overall pipeline is sized to meet future water demands and will be completed in multiple phases based on funding availability and timing need for additional water capacity. When completed, the pipeline will provide additional system capacity, redundancy, and resiliency. This easement and right-of-way conveyance is necessary to complete the first phase which includes the construction of approximately 26,900 feet of 96-inch diameter pipeline from the Summit Ground Storage Tanks in Cedar Hill southeast to Wintergreen Road, then east along Wintergreen Road to Old Hickory Trail in DeSoto.
This item, on behalf of Water Utilities Department, authorizes the conveyance of an easement and right-of-way containing a total of approximately 1,985 square feet of land to Oncor Electric Delivery Company, LLC for the construction, maintenance and use of power lines and electric transformer facilities across City-owned land located at the intersection of East Wintergreen and North Joe Wilson Roads in Cedar Hill, Texas.
This easement will facilitate the relocation of existing electric lines and associated infrastructure being displaced due to the construction of a portion of the Southwest 120/96-inch Water Transmission Pipeline Project parcel W-15. Future electrical infrastructure relocation costs will be required.
