Body

BACKGROUND

This service contract will be used for the removal and replacement of the old filtration system and installation of a new system at Fair Park Esplanade Fountain located at 1200 Second Avenue. This project will improve the natural flow of water through the filter, ensuring optimum water filtration and balanced fluidization of the filter through the installation of an Aquakraft water filtration system - 400 GPM horizontal filter with manual backwash and an Acid Rite pH decreasing feeder with automated chemical controls.

The Fair Park Esplanade Fountain is centrally located in a 277-acre complex of historic buildings and museums east of downtown Dallas. The Fair Park Esplanade, a 700-foot-long reflecting pool capped with three fountains, was built for the 1936 Texas Centennial. The Fair Park Esplanade fountains offer visitors exciting shows set to music each year during the State Fair of Texas.

The Texas Association of School Boards (BuyBoard) cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
