Authorize a three-year cooperative purchasing service price agreement for court reporting services for the City Attorney's Office with MLS Parent Holdings LLC dba Magna Legal Services LLC through the interlocal cooperative agreement with Dallas Area Rapid Transit - Estimated amount of $325,000.00 - Financing: Liability Reserve Fund (subject to annual appropriations)

BACKGROUND
This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service price agreement is to establish firm pricing for services for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as a guide rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with budget capacity will determine the amount spent under this agreement.
This cooperative purchasing service price agreement will provide the City Attorney’s Office with needed court reporting services, which include court reporters and transcribers to take verbatim transcriptions of depositions, appellate hearings, witness statements, and any other proceedings where accurate written accounts are necessary. Additional services include the following:
• Administering oaths
• Providing electronic versions of transcripts
• Videotaping of proceedings
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On April 28, 2021, the City Council authorized a three-year service price agreement for court reporting services for various City departments with Magna Legal Services by Resolution No. 21-0707.
The Finance Committee will be briefed by memorandum regarding this matter on October 21, 2025.
