Body
BACKGROUND
This cooperative purchasing agreement will provide a web security service that helps protect the City’s websites from hackers and online attacks. This service keeps the website running normally even when someone tries to overload it or break in. Without renewing it, important protections could expire and leave the City’s systems at risk. The City’s Information and Technology department uses this service every day to keep the website safe for the public. It also provides extra protection that the new City website needs to stay secure. If an attack does happen, the system helps limit the damage. Overall, renewing this service helps keep the City’s website stable, secure, and easy for people to use.
The OMNIA Partners cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code which authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
