Authorize an increase in the construction services contract with Gibson & Associates, Inc. for the Houston Street Viaduct, Phase II Project for the bridge repair of the Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct - Not to exceed $241,360.00, from $7,677,780.00 to $7,919,140.00 - Financing: General Fund

BACKGROUND
During a routine levee inspection, City staff observed several cracks and spalls with exposed rebar on the bridge bent columns and interior bent caps of the Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct over Interstate Highway 30 and Trinity River that required immediate attention.
Michael Baker International was procured by the City to investigate the deteriorating areas and to prepare a repair plan. Due to the urgency of the necessary repair and proximity of the Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct to the Houston Street Viaduct, the necessary construction work for the Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct repair is being added as a change order to the existing Houston Street Viaduct Phase II repair and rehabilitation project.
This action will authorize Change Order No. 2 in the construction services contract with Gibson & Associates, Inc. for the Houston Street Viaduct, Phase II Project for the bridge repair for Jefferson Boulevard Viaduct.
