Authorize a construction services contract for the construction of Alley Reconstruction Group 17-3001 (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Aushill Construction, LLC, lowest responsible bidder of five - Not to exceed $2,072,358.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund) ($1,947,576.00), Water Capital Improvement F Fund ($1,232.00), Water Construction Fund ($17,000.00), Wastewater Capital Improvement G Fund ($64,000.00), and Wastewater Construction Fund ($42,550.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract with Aushill Construction, LLC for the construction of five alley reconstruction projects as Alley Reconstruction Group 17-3001.
The project group scope will include replacing the deteriorating alleys with reinforced concrete pavement, driveway approaches, storm drainage, water and wastewater improvements, and other miscellaneous items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications.

Aushill Construction, LLC is a Dallas-based corporation, and is a registered vendor with the City of Dallas.

If this project group is not awarded for construction at this time, the alleys will continue to deteriorate causing additional pavement cracking and potholes to form, creating additional maintenance cost for the City and potential damages to vehicles utilizing the alleys. Field conditions may also change, which will require modifications to the engineering design plans, requiring additional funding and time to address.
