Authorize an engineering services contract with Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. to provide construction material testing services during construction of (1) paving, drainage, water and wastewater improvements at Pemberton Hill Road and (2) the Alley Reconstruction Group 17-9001 Package A (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Not to exceed $103,501.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund)

BACKGROUND
The Request for Qualifications (CIZ1917) was issued on September 16, 2020 for the construction material testing services. The consulting firm, Giles Engineers, Inc., was selected following a qualifications-based selection process in accordance with the City of Dallas procurement guidelines.
This action will authorize an engineering services contract for the construction material testing services for construction of the (1) paving, drainage, water and wastewater improvements at Pemberton Hill Road (PB17VA10) and (2) Alley Reconstruction Group 17-9001 Package A located in Alleys between: (a) Cotillion Drive and Bon Park Court (PB17V069); (b) Buchannan Drive and Fergusson Road (PB17V00); (c) Dumbarton Drive and Glen Cross Drive (PB7V071); (d) Glen Cross Drive and Drummond Drive (PB17V072); (e) Bon Park and Parader Court. These testing services are required to assure that the material utilized during construction is in conformance with the quality required by the project specifications.
Giles Engineering Associates, Inc. is a registered vendor and has an office located within the corporate city limits of Dallas, Texas.
