BACKGROUND
The purpose of a master agreement is to establish firm pricing for goods, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis. This action does not encumber funds. This master agreement will be used to purchase youth athletic gear, physical education, gymnasium supplies and equipment for the Park & Recreation Youth Sports Programs.
In addition, this master agreement will provide youth sports athletic gear and program supplies for the operation of recreation centers, after school programs, annual summer camps and 19 Send A Kid to Camp sites. These purchases will assist with the facilitation of the required needs of the Park & Recreation Department Youth Sports Program which currently serves over 10,000 youth annually.
The Texas Association of School Boards (BuyBoard) cooperative agreement is authorized by Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code and Subchapter F, Chapter 271, Texas Local Government Code. Section 271.102 of the Texas Local Government Code authorizes a local government to participate in a Cooperative Purchasing Program with another local government or a local cooperative organization.
