BACKGROUND

 

On April 10, 2024, the City Council authorized a two-year professional services contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. by Resolution No. 24-0517, in an amount not to exceed $722,255.00, for on-call professional urban planning and zoning review services for the Department of Planning & Urban Design. The contract includes three one-year renewal options exercisable at the City’s sole discretion.

 

Freese and Nichols, Inc. provides professional planning and zoning services to assist the Department with zoning change applications, planned development districts, board of adjustment applications, specific use permits, deed restrictions, and other planning-related initiatives. These services augment staff capacity and support continuity of operations.

 

Freese and Nichols Inc. has performed satisfactorily and in compliance with all contract requirements. This action authorizes the first and second of the three one-year renewal options to ensure uninterrupted services and operational efficiency.

 

 

 

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On April 10, 2024, the City Council authorized a two-year service contract, with three one-year renewal options, for professional consulting services with Freese and Nichols, lnc., approved as to form by the City Attorney, as a Special Needs request to continue assisting with zoning and planning applications and other planning review projects, in the amount of $322,255.00 in Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 and in the amount of $400,000.00 in FY 2024-25, for a total not to exceed $722,255.00 (subject to annual appropriations) by Resolution No. 24-0517.
