BACKGROUND

 

MEP Consulting Engineers, Inc. has provided an analysis of the Bachman indoor pool mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and has determined that additional equipment is needed. MEP Consulting Engineers, Inc., also completed functional testing of the existing equipment to determine the need for immediate repairs. The existing equipment is currently being replaced through a different contract. This renovation of the system will provide the necessary design work for the additional mechanical equipment that will for updated cooling capacity and meet the fresh air requirements that were determined by the report.

 

The preliminary placement of the new equipment is on the roof, which requires architectural and structural design services to be added to the project.

 

This action will authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the professional services contract with MEP Consulting Engineers Inc. for additional architectural and engineering services for the schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration for the renovation of the natatorium mechanical system at Bachman Recreation Center.

On March 26, 2026, the Park and Recreation Board approved a Supplemental Agreement No. 1 professional services contract with MEP Consulting Engineers Inc. for additional architectural and engineering services for the schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration for the renovation of Indoor Pool Mechanical System for the Bachman Recreation Center located at 2750 Bachman Drive.
