Authorize a construction services contract for the installation of water and wastewater mains at 16 locations (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - SYB Construction Co., Inc., lowest responsible bidder of nine - Not to exceed $14,552,545.00 - Financing: 2024C Water Revenue Bonds - TWDB LM241535 Fund ($9,414,593.50) and Wastewater Capital Improvement F Fund ($5,137,951.50)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract for the replacement/rehabilitation and installation of approximately 33,910 feet of water and wastewater mains. The contract includes installation of approximately 15,500 feet of 8-inch water, 5,750 feet 12-inch water, and 1,240 feet of 16-inch diameter water mains and the installation of approximately 4,410 feet of 8-inch, 3,770 feet of 10-inch, 1,660 feet of 12-inch, 730 feet of 16-inch, and 570 feet of 18-inch diameter wastewater mains. In addition, the contract includes the rehabilitation of approximately 280 feet of 8-inch diameter wastewater main.
The existing water and wastewater mains were built between 1911 and 1964. These mains are contributing to an increase in maintenance costs, as well as service interruptions. The installation of the proposed segments will improve the capacity of the water and wastewater systems and reduce maintenance costs.
