Body
BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract for the installation and rehabilitation of approximately 27,787 feet of water and wastewater mains ranging in size from 8-inch to 18-inch in diameter. The scope of the work includes the installation of approximately 8,979 feet of 8-inch and 1,114 ft of 12-inch diameter water mains as well as the installation and rehabilitation of approximately 14,321 feet of 8-inch, 2,838 feet of 12-inch, and 535 feet of 18-inch diameter wastewater mains.
The existing water and wastewater mains were built between 1901 and 1959. These mains are contributing to an increase in maintenance costs, as well as service interruptions. The installation of the proposed segments will improve the capacity of the water and wastewater systems and reduce maintenance costs.
