Authorize a construction services contract for the construction of Street Reconstruction Group 17-3004 (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Jeske Construction Co., lowest responsible bidder of two - Not to exceed $2,829,300.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Funds) ($2,300,175.00) and Water Construction Fund ($529,125.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract with Jeske Construction Co. for the construction of two street reconstruction projects as Street Reconstruction Group 17-3004.
This street reconstruction project will include replacing the existing deteriorating concrete streets with reinforced concrete pavement, curb, sidewalk, drainage improvements, water improvements, and other miscellaneous items necessary to complete the project, in accordance with the intent of the plans and specifications.
Following are the locations and construction costs for each project:

Jeske Construction Co. is a Dallas-based corporation, operating within the corporate city limits of Dallas, Texas.

If this project group is not awarded for construction at this time, the roadways will continue to deteriorate causing additional pavement cracking and potholes to form, creating additional maintenance costs for the City and potential damages to vehicles utilizing the roadways. Field conditions may also change, which will require modifications to the engineering design plans, requiring additional funding and time to address.
