BACKGROUND
The proposed resolution amends the City Council Rules of Procedure by changing the name of one of the eight standing committees from the Environment and Sustainability Committee to the Parks, Trails, and the Environment Committee. The renaming of this committee reflects: (1) the priority of this Mayoral Administration to lead the City of Dallas further down the path toward becoming a major city with the best park system in Texas; (2) the belief of this Mayoral Administration that parks and trails are critical infrastructure in a modern city; and (3) the pride this Mayoral Administration has in our city’s diligent pursuit of a cleaner and more sustainable Dallas and commitment to fostering more resilient neighborhoods.
