BACKGROUND

The City of Dallas has identified areas across the city requiring flood management and storm drainage improvements to address flooding and strengthen infrastructure due to structural deterioration. These areas were identified to have inadequate infrastructure to limit flooding impacts and in the case of one location to ensure necessary long term dam safety. The locations included on this contract are the Ash Creek Tributary 5B7 Bridge Improvement at Province Lane, Woody Branch at South Polk Street and the Woody Branch Dam.

Engineering services associated with this contract include the evaluation and design for the replacement of aging culverts and bridge structures, regional flood mitigation recommendations, channel stabilization and erosion control measures, and dam rehabilitation to address structural deterioration, stabilize downstream areas, and support ongoing inspection and maintenance. The scope of the contract includes project management, topographic and boundary surveys, easement document preparation, environmental permitting, subsurface utility exploration, geotechnical investigations, structural analysis, hydraulic analysis, and development of conceptual and final construction plans and special specifications.
