Body
BACKGROUND

The Park & Recreation Department desires to share access with Richardson Independent School District (RISD) at Dobie Elementary School for neighborhood park use. A strategy utilized nationally to increase resident access to parks and open spaces is to partner with schools to make their campuses available to the neighboring residents. By partnering with RISD and the City will be able to further improve park access for residents without the need to acquire new park land. This agreement focuses on a portion of the Dobie Pre-Kindergarten School, which is located on the Cottonwood Creek Trail.

Deal Points:
City of Dallas Park & Recreation agrees to:
* Maintain the property with basic maintenance to include litter pickup, mow and trim
* Maintain any future improvements
* Improve the property with recreational amenities that may include athletic fields, shade structure and miscellaneous park amenities such as benches, trash cans, etc.
RISD agrees to:
* Allow public access to the site during normal park hours for the length of the agreement
* Allow use of the school parking lot
Other terms/Misc
* 20-year term with two five-year renewal options for the "back lot" of the campus adjacent to the trail
* Cause for termination to be defined as City negligence, abandoning maintenance requirements of site, and/or other reasons ...
