Staff Recommendation

That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness remodel an existing rear addition due to a fire be approved in accordance with drawings and specifications dated August 25, 2026, with the conditions that both front façade doors are to remain, the soffit, fascia and trim boards be all wood, and that the porch light be a flush mount light.  Implementation of the recommended conditions would allow the proposed work to be consistent with preservation criteria Section 4(4.1) (b) and meets City Code Section 51A-4.501(g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures; and/or the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Rehabilitation.

Task Force Recommendation

Approve with conditions that the trim be a darker color, that the porch lights be flush with the porch ceiling, that the second door on the front is to remain, and the back door should be a solid core door.
