Staff Recommendation
That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to plant three (3) Crepe Myrtle trees in the parkway in participation with the Dallas Reforestation Fund Program be approved with the condition that staff may revise species and location per city arborist recommendation. Implementation of the proposed condition would allow the proposed work to be consistent with preservation criteria Section 2.6; meet the City Code Section 51A-4.501(g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures; and/or the Secretary of the Interior’s Guidelines for Setting (District/Neighborhood).
Task Force Recommendation
That the request for a Certificate of Appropriateness to plant three (3) Crepe Myrtle trees in the parkway in accordance with specifications dated 10/5/2026 in participation with the Dallas Reforestation Fund Program be approved. Recommend two Natchez and no Crepe Myrtle due to the given growth habit of Natchez (width), unless arborist feels it is appropriate to change to a smaller variety of Crepe Myrtle to keep three trees.
