BACKGROUND

This concession contract will allow Concourse Communication Group, LLC to source and upgrade hardware to support the traveling public, airline, and airport tenants by providing cellular telephone and data access through a distributed antenna system. Dallas Love Field airport will provide free Wi-Fi and increased radio signals for Airport Operations with the state-of-the-art neutral host Distributed Antenna System (DAS) network to power the passenger experience and improve operational efficiencies. The upgrade will extend and enhance the wireless coverage areas and address Tier One carrier upgrade needs to the Dallas Love Field Airport with expansion coverage to Parking Garage C.

Concourse Communications Group, LLC will continue to support and upgrade software as needed and operate the DAS Wi-Fi systems at their expense to provide the same high level of service currently delivered.

The Distributed Antenna System supports about 16 million passengers annually, including airline tenants, airport operations, Dallas Police, Love Field airport facilities, and operations staff.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

On August 22, 2012, the City Council authorized a six-year contract, with two three-year renewal options, and a minimum guarantee to design, build and manage a carrier neutral cellular antennae and Wi-Fi system at Love Field by Resolution No. 12-2075.
