BACKGROUND

 

This item authorizes the private sale of a tax foreclosed property to Dallas County, located at 12229 Dandridge Drive acquired by the taxing authorities from a Sheriff’s Sale. The property will be used for an affordable housing project.

 

As required under Tax Code 34.05(i) and 34.05(j), this item, on behalf of Dallas County, will consent to the sale of a tax foreclosed property located at 12229 Dandridge Drive by Dallas County. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 34.05(c) of the Tax Property Code, the property was offered for sale by the Sheriff of Dallas County at public auction. No bids were received, and the property was subsequently struck off to the City of Dallas (the “City”) on August 1, 2023, pursuant to a tax judgment (Cause No. 21-00318 combined with 10-40550) for the non-payment of delinquent taxes. The City of Dallas holds the property in trust for each taxing entity and Dallas County is seeking the consent for the sale of the property.
