Title
A public hearing, pursuant to Chapter 26 of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code, to receive comments on the proposed use of a portion of parkland at Bachman Creek Greenbelt, located at 3002 Shorecrest Drive, totaling approximately 2,597 square feet of land (0.06 acres), by Dallas Water Utilities for the construction of a 36-inch stormwater line for the Rexford Road Project for the public benefit; and, at the close of the public hearing, consideration of a resolution authorizing the proposed use of parkland pursuant to Chapter 26 of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Code - Estimated Revenue: Capital Gifts, Donation and Development Fund $1,250.00

BACKGROUND
The City of Dallas owns municipal parkland known as Bachman Creek Greenbelt (58 acres) at 3002 Shorecrest Drive in near northeast Dallas. Bachman Creek Greenbelt is a community park with passive recreation. The park is effectively divided by Bachman Branch. The request for easement is on the south side of the lake in the Inwood Village neighborhood.
The streets in the Rexford Drive area flood during significant storm events due to insufficient stormwater infrastructure. Dallas Water Utility's (DWU's) Rexford Road Project will collect the neighborhood stormwater runoff into a 36-inch utility line through Bachman Creek Greenbelt at Rexford Drive with its outfall into Bachman Branch. At the outfall DWU will use a vegetated engineered channel protection system which is a green engineering solution keeping in character with the passive park character of this area of the Bachman Creek Greenbelt.
