Authorize a professional services contract with Huitt-Zollars, Inc., approved as to form by the City Attorney, for architectural, engineering, and construction administration services for a new vehicle maintenance facility at Southeast Service Center located at 2761 Municipal Street - Not to exceed $1,026,908.00 - Financing: City Hall, City Service and Maintenance Facilities Fund (2006 General Obligation Bond Fund)

BACKGROUND
The Southeast Service Center, located at 2761 Municipal Street, is one of five (5) service centers operated by the Department of Equipment and Fleet Management. These service centers provide mechanical and electrical repairs, preventive maintenance, state inspections, vehicle emissions testing, lubrication, fueling and road call assistance on a 24-hour basis, for City of Dallas vehicles.
The proposed location for the new vehicle maintenance facility at Southeast Service Center sits within an approximately 8-acre area of a Dallas Central Appraisal District 67-acre platted site. Allowable use of this property is described in Planned Development 595 and has a Special Use Permit 133 controlling the development plan of the lot which requires any changes to this location to be approved by the Department of Planning and Development.
On November 7, 2006, Dallas voters approved funding for the design and construction of a facilities maintenance building to be located at Southeast Service Center on Municipal Street.
