Authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to increase the service contract with 22nd Century Technologies, Inc. through the Sourcewell cooperative agreement for the purchase, installation, hardware monitoring, and support of additional secondary backup circuits for the Department of Information and Technology Services - Not to exceed $694,629.80, from $12,583,720.40 to $13,278,350.20 - Financing: Data Services Fund (subject to annual appropriations)

BACKGROUND
This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.
This Supplemental Agreement will continue to provide for the purchase, installation, hardware monitoring, and support of additional secondary backup circuits for the Department of Information and Technology Services. This agreement will provide for the additional secondary backup circuits for the DPD Headquarters location and Internet Crimes Against Children. The secondary circuits provide a backup path through which network traffic can pass if primary circuits go down as a result of a disaster.
The secondary backup circuits are used to deliver network traffic that will allow for the provision of the most crucial services, such as public safety and water to Dallas residents.
Some key benefits to implementing the tools include but are not limited to:
* Moving the City into compliance with an audit finding from the IBM Data Center Study and Evaluation Services Physical Facility Assessment
