BACKGROUND

 

Plaintiffs Mark Ortiz and Mary Brown, administrator of the estate of Christi Ruplenas, filed a lawsuit against the City of Dallas seeking compensation for alleged bodily injuries and other damages sustained in an automobile collision on July 27, 2020, involving a Dallas Department of Sanitation Services employee operating a city-owned vehicle. The City and Plaintiffs have reached a proposed settlement subject to City Council approval. Plaintiffs are represented by Shawn Hashemi and Chalaki Law.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

A confidential memorandum regarding this matter will be provided to the City Council on February 7, 2025.
