Staff Recommendation

That the request to replace the existing fence and install a new six-foot-tall wood board-on-board fence in the front yard be denied without prejudice, with a finding of fact that fences in front yards are prohibited in Junius Heights Historic District and would, therefore, have an adverse effect on the district. The proposed work is, therefore, not consistent with preservation criteria Section 3.6(a)(1), the standards in City Code Section 51-4.501(g)(6)(C)(i) for contributing structures, or the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Setting (Neighborhood/District).

Task Force Recommendation

That the request to replace the existing fence and install a new fence in the front yard be denied without prejudice per Section 3.6(A)(2).
