Body
BACKGROUND

This item authorizes the acquisition of a drainage easement from James L. Coon and Brad Cleveland containing approximately 2,119 square feet of land located at 8610 Eustis Avenue near its intersection with Lakeland Drive for the Sanford Avenue Storm Drainage Relief System Project. The project will provide additional drainage inlets and storm sewer pipe and culvert improvements to enhance the existing inadequate drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding during heavy storm events. An easement is required at 8610 Eustis Avenue to accommodate the upgraded storm sewer system where it outfalls to an existing channel adjacent to the railroad near Lakeland Drive. At this location, there is an existing 10-foot drainage easement, but an additional 2,119 square feet easement is needed for the installation and future maintenance of the upgraded outfall from a 48-inch diameter existing pipe to a 7-foot by 6-foot box culvert, 48-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe, and riprap for erosion protection.

The consideration is based on an independent appraisal. There are no relocation benefits associated with this acquisition.
