BACKGROUND

This action authorizes a construction services contract with Douglas Dailey Construction, LLC for the installation and rehabilitation of approximately 27,210 feet of water and wastewater mains at 13 locations. The construction contract includes the installation of approximately 200 feet of 6-inch; 4,820 feet of 8-inch; 5,800 feet of 16-inch; and 80 feet of 20-inch diameter water mains. It also includes the installation and rehabilitation of approximately 20 feet of 6-inch; 890 feet of 8-inch; 50 feet of 10-inch; 2,910 feet of 12-inch; 5,280 feet of 16-inch; 440 feet of 24-inch; 3,210 feet of 30-inch; 2,860 feet of 36-inch; 210 feet of 42-inch; and 440 feet of 48-inch diameter wastewater mains.

The existing water and wastewater mains planned for replacement and rehabilitation due to their condition were built between 1947 and 1974. These mains are identified to be aging and in need of repair and replacement due to service interruptions and increased maintenance efforts. Some of the mains also need to be upsized to provide additional capacity to meet current and future demands.
