Title
Authorize the (1) acceptance of a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (Grant Award No. SE0000953, Assistance Listing No. 81.128) in the amount of $1,132,070.00 to upgrade five City facilities to energy efficient light emitting diode lighting for the period from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026; (2) receipt and deposit of funds in an amount not to exceed $1,132,070.00 in the DOE EECBG Program BIL 2021 Grant Fund; (3) establishment of appropriations in an amount not to exceed $1,132,070.00 in the DOE EECBG Program BIL 2021 Grant Fund; and (4) execution of the grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy and all terms, conditions, and documents required by the agreement - Not to exceed $1,132,070.00 - Financing: DOE EECBG Program BIL 2021 Grant Fund

BACKGROUND
This item will authorize the acceptance of an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) from the U.S. Department of Energy. The State and Community Energy Programs of the U.S. Department of Energy awarded the City a two-year grant with a project period from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2026.
This grant will be used to fund upgrades to the existing fluorescent light fixtures at five City facilities to reduce the City's energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which in turn helps achieve the Comprehensive Environmental and Climate Action Plan (CECAP) that was adopted by the City Council on May 27, 2020.
